AI Assistant

Use AI to help write and improve your blog content.

Writing quality blog content takes time and mental energy. Sometimes the words flow easily, but other times you stare at a blank page or struggle to improve a draft that isn't quite working. The AI Assistant helps at every stage of the writing process — generating initial ideas, drafting content, refining what you've written, and suggesting improvements you might not have considered.

Think of AI as a writing partner rather than a replacement for your own voice. The best results come from collaboration: AI provides raw material and suggestions that you then shape, refine, and infuse with your unique perspective and expertise.

Accessing the AI Assistant

In the Blog Editor, click the AI button in the toolbar to open the assistant. You can ask for help with any aspect of your content — generating new material, improving existing text, or getting suggestions for what's missing.

The assistant understands context, so it works with what you've already written rather than starting from scratch each time. Select specific text to get help with that passage, or work with your entire post for broader suggestions.

Generating Content

When you need help creating content from scratch, describe what you want and the AI generates appropriate text.

For introductions, you might ask "Write an introduction about the challenges of social media marketing for small businesses." The AI produces an opening paragraph you can use as-is or revise to better match your voice.

For structure, try "Create an outline for a post about choosing the right email marketing platform." You'll get a logical framework of sections and key points to cover, which you can then expand into full content.

For ideation, ask "Write 5 blog post ideas about franchise marketing trends." The AI suggests topics complete with potential angles, giving you starting points for future content.

Improving Existing Content

The AI also helps refine what you've already written. Select a passage that isn't working and ask for specific help.

Clarity problems respond well to prompts like "Make this paragraph clearer" or "Simplify this explanation." The AI rewrites dense or confusing passages into more accessible language.

Thin content benefits from "Expand this section with more detail" or "Add examples to illustrate this point." When you've stated something too briefly, AI can flesh out the reasoning and evidence.

Lengthy passages can be condensed with "Summarize this into key points" or "Shorten this section while keeping the main ideas." AI identifies the essential content and cuts the rest.

Getting Suggestions

Beyond direct writing assistance, the AI offers suggestions that might not have occurred to you.

Ask "Suggest a better headline" to get alternatives for your current title. Headlines significantly impact whether people click through to read, so having options helps you choose the most compelling angle.

Try "What's missing from this article?" for a gap analysis. The AI identifies topics or questions your post should address but doesn't, helping you create more comprehensive content.

Use "How can I make this more engaging?" when content feels flat. The AI suggests techniques like adding stories, asking questions, or varying sentence structure to hold reader attention.

Brand Voice Integration

If you've configured brand guidelines in your Brand Kit, the AI incorporates those preferences into its output. It matches your established tone — whether professional, casual, authoritative, or friendly — and uses language consistent with your brand identity.

This means AI-generated content doesn't require extensive editing to sound like you. The assistant already knows how your brand communicates and produces content that fits.

Working Effectively with AI

Be specific in your requests. "Make this better" gives the AI little direction, while "Make this section more actionable by adding specific steps readers can take" produces more useful results.

Review and edit AI suggestions. AI generates reasonable content quickly, but it lacks your specific expertise, personal experiences, and understanding of your audience. Always read AI output critically and revise to add your unique perspective.

Use AI as a starting point. The most effective workflow uses AI to generate initial drafts or ideas that you then develop and refine. This combination captures AI's speed with your knowledge and judgment.

Add what only you can provide. Personal anecdotes, specific customer examples, and your unique take on topics are what differentiate your content from anyone else's. AI can't provide these — you have to add them.

Important Considerations

AI is a tool, not an author. Publishing AI content without review risks inaccuracies, generic voice, and content that doesn't truly serve your audience. Always verify important claims, especially statistics or technical information.

Don't rely entirely on AI for accuracy. While AI training includes vast information, it can confidently state things that are outdated or incorrect. Fact-check any claims that matter for your credibility.

The human element matters. Readers connect with authentic human voices, personal experiences, and genuine perspectives. AI can help you express those things more clearly, but it can't create them from nothing.
